Today, we want to take a moment to pray broadly for global efforts around the world and introduce you to the many other partners that Northridge supports.
Northridge has a long and rich history of supporting projects and people serving in foreign contexts. We do this because of what we see Jesus tell his followers in Acts 1:8. He says:
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.
For the followers of Jesus, Jerusalem, Judea, and Samaria were all within the national boundaries of Israel. They all had some shared history and culture and they even spoke the same language. At Northridge, we think of this as our Pi2 strategy (that's P-i-i, pronounced "pie squared"). That means we are praying for people right around us who are far from God, investing in their lives, and inviting them to take their next spiritual step.
It's that end piece, about being witnesses to the end of the earth, that compels us to make sure that our outreach strategy also includes an international dimension. We want to leverage our resources to share the great news about Jesus with those who don't have access to Bibles or a church.
We have partners in Chad, the Philippines, Brazil, Germany, and Jordan. (You can learn more about each at the Northridge Global page) Each faces unique challenges in sharing the Gospel in their specific culture and context.
Today, would you please pray...
- by name for each of our global partners for encouragement in their work as they serve thousands of miles away from their native culture and family.
- for the health and well-being of their families and team members. Pray that nothing would hinder their work.
- for success in their work. Pray that they would see the fruit of their efforts, with people coming to know Christ and growing in their faith in Him.
Thanks for praying!
