Mara Mara Update

On Sunday, October 21st, a five-person team from Northridge Church traveled to the village of Maramara in the largely forgotten nation of Chad. For the last five years, we have sponsored projects through our partner organization World Concern, to help the village of Maramara begin to build a vision for a future out of extreme poverty. Check out the links below to learn more about the mission, the history, and the strategy behind our relationships in Chad.

Why adoption?

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will—  to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. (Ephesians 1:3-6)

Adoption was God's plan even before the creation of the world. It is an incredible picture of the Gospel, in which God chose to bring us into His family and call us his own.

Adoption is the process by which a child moves permanently from one family to another family. Foster care is a temporary arrangement in which a family provides a home and love for a child while the birthparents are unable to care for them. The goal of foster care is the reunification of that family, but adoption is an option if reunification is no longer possible.

Investing in Local Public Schools

In September and October, 2018, we received an offering to purchase gifts for teachers to help them feel loved and to resource their classrooms.

We asked everyone at Northridge to pray about this and consider donating $25.

As a church we had other funds set aside to bless all of these schools with an appreciation lunch for their entire staff on the day we deliver the gifts.

Finding Refuge

Northridge Church, along with Grace Road Church and Browncroft Community Church, hosted a special event in January, 2018, featuring Matthew Soerens, the director of church mobilization for World Relief. World Relief is an organization engaging with refugees worldwide and one of the handful of organizations tasked with resettling refugees in the US.
